L’érosion par le Saint-Laurent cause le recul et la disparition de grandes superficies de prairies humides de grande valeur écologique à cet endroit. On dénote également la forte présence d’espèces exotiques envahissantes accidentellement introduites comme le roseau commun et quelques aménagements anthropiques qui amplifient le phénomène. Or, ces marais sont uniques, puisqu’ils sont composés de plantes adaptées aux marées d’eau douce à saumâtre et à l’action des glaces hivernales. Certaines de ces plantes sont exclusivement retrouvées dans la région de l’estuaire du Saint-Laurent. C’est le cas d’une espèce menacée, la gentiane de Victorin. \n\nUne plantation de 1 500 mètres carrés de haut marais a été réalisée au moyen d’espèces indigènes (carex, spartine pectinée, etc.) et de génie végétal (bouturage de saules arbustifs). C’est près de 20 000 plants qui ont été implantés à l’été 2017. Erosion by the St. Lawrence is causing the retreat and disappearance of large areas of humid grasslands of great ecological value in this area. We also note the strong presence of exotic invasive species accidentally introduced such as the common reed and some anthropogenic developments that amplify the phenomenon. However, these marshes are unique, since they are composed of plants adapted to fresh to brackish water tides and to the action of winter ice. Some of these plants are exclusively found in the St. Lawrence Estuary region. This is the case of an endangered species, Victorin's gentian. \\n\\nA plantation of 1,500 square meters of high marsh was carried out using native species (sedge, prairie cordgrass, etc.) and plant engineering (cutting of shrubby willows). restauration d’une partie du haut marais de Montmagny grâce à un financement du Programme Interactions communautaires (PIC) de la Ville de Montmagny. \n\nLe portrait de l’état du haut marais côtier situé à l’ouest de la Rivière-du-Sud a été réalisé à l’été 2016. L’érosion par le Saint-Laurent cause le recul et la disparition de grandes superficies de prairies humides de grande valeur écologique à cet endroit. On dénote également la forte présence d’espèces exotiques envahissantes accidentellement introduites comme le roseau commun et quelques aménagements anthropiques qui amplifient le phénomène. Or, ces marais sont uniques, puisqu’ils sont composés de plantes adaptées aux marées d’eau douce à saumâtre et à l’action des glaces hivernales. Certaines de ces plantes sont exclusivement retrouvées dans la région de l’estuaire du Saint-Laurent. C’est le cas d’une espèce menacée, la gentiane de Victorin. \n\nUne plantation de 1 500 mètres carrés de haut marais a été réalisée au moyen d’espèces indigènes (carex, spartine pectinée, etc.) et de génie végétal (bouturage de saules arbustifs). C’est près de 20 000 plants qui ont été implantés à l’été 2017.
