Integrated hull-mounted acoustic data 38 kHz MFRI cruise A7-2020

The dataset contains integrated values of total and mesopelagic backscatter for an EK60 38 kHz echosounder, from ~25 to 1000 m depth. Sampling took place on the RV Arni Fridriksson cruise that was carried out during the International Ecosystem Summer Survey in Nordic Seas (IESSNS). The cruise covered sea areas around Iceland and lasted for 30 days (1-30 July 2020). During the second part of the cruise, two days were dedicated to sampling for the MEESO project in the Irminger Sea and adjacent waters. Mesopelagic acoustic backscatter defined in LSSS (200-1000m) at 38 kHz were stored as Nautical Area Scattering Coefficient Values (NASC) with a -82 dB lower threshold in 0.1 nmi resolution.
