Radiatively-driven convection buoy for the National Science Foundation (RDC_NSF)

RDC_NSF is a moored buoy in southwest Lake Superior off of Grand Marais used to study radiatively driven convection. It started collecting data on 20 April 2021 as part of a 3-year National Science Foundation funded proposal. It was used to study surface heat and momentum fluxes from approximately April to July by measuring basic meteorological parameters, as well as surface water temperature and turbidity. The buoy is operated and maintained by University of Minnesota-Duluth's Large Lake Observatory.
