OBV du Fleuve St-Jean — River Temperature Monitoring

Monitoring thermographs in certain rivers in the Quebec portion of the Saint John River watershed makes it possible to document variations in water temperature. Temperature is a physical variable that affects biological communities and directly affects the physical, biological, and chemical factors that impact aquatic organisms.

Two of the probes were funded and installed as part of the Watched Rivers, Adapting for the Future program - Benthos Overview component of the Water Education and Ecomonitoring Group (G3E). This program is financially supported under Action-Climat Québec and meets the objectives of the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.
