Sint Eustatius Benthic Habitat Map RT MT
The map presents shallow water benthic habitats around Sint Eustatius detected and classified using remote sensing. The research aimed at classification of the habitats down to 30 m depth using hight resolution multispectracl WorldView-3 imagery and in-situ observations. Various classification algorithms were explored and the data presents the results of the Random Tree algorithm (RT) on multispectral image (MS) which were considered as the most accuracte result. The map was created as a part of Iris van Rijn MSc. Thesis under the Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA) a two-year joint-degree Master of Science programme conducted at Utrecht University in partnership with Wageningen University and Research centre, Delft University of Technology and University of Twente.
