The physical oceanography of Bowling Green Bay, north Queensland: Station BG02
An Interocean S4 vector averaging current meter and a Seadata TDR were deployed on a mooring at Station BG02. The current meter was one of four current meters placed along the line joining Cape Cleveland and Cape Bowling Green to investigate the relationship between winds and boundary currents.Deployment Details:Instrument: S4 #632Instrument depth: 13mSampling interval: 30 minutesDate deployed: 19/10/1984Date recovered: 17/03/1985Instrument: TDR #194Instrument depth: 14mSampling interval: 30 minutesDate deployed: 25/10/1984Date recovered: 17/03/1985 This study was initiated to:1. gain an understanding of the circulation of water in Bowling Green Bay2. complement concurrent studies by AIMS scientists researching the ecology, nutrient regime and trophodynamics of the coastal boundary of the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.
