Glider deployment to map the physics, optics and acoustics in the region adjacent to Palmer Station. The goal is measure the mixing, phytoplankton, and krill in a region of high foraging activity for penguins and whales. The Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) program in Antarctica is a long term study focused on understanding how the marine system regulates the ecology of the West Antarctic Peninsula.
