RNA sequencing of two rock oysters Saccostrea species from the thermal challenge experiment of the MAHEWA project, 2025

This study aims to investigate how two Saccostrea oyster species (S. echinata and S. cucullata) respond to thermal stress. By comparing acute and chronic heat stress responses using transcriptomic approaches, the study seeks to characterize the underlying molecular mechanisms. Ultimately, the goal is to identify transcriptional biomarkers that can be used to monitor physiological status and resilience in the context of increasing marine heatwaves and to support aquaculture diversification.
