GAMAR climate projection 2030-2050 (WP3 RiOMAR)

Funded by the Priority Research Programme “Ocean & Climate”, the RiOMar project is studying how the coastal environment is changing under the influence of rivers in the 21st century. It is focusing on five coastal zones in metropolitan France: the English Channel–Seine, Southern Brittany–Loire, Pertuis–Charente, Bay of Biscay–Gironde, and the Gulf of Lion–Rhône. The project aims to answer two important questions: what will happen to vulnerable ocean environments at river mouths due to human activity and climate pressures in the 21^(st) century, and how can we work with environmental managers to improve the condition and functioning of ecosystems using science.
