Portrait of the Baie-Comeau Coast, Summer 2023
In the summer of 2023, the Comité ZIP de la rive nord de l'estuaire (RNE) walked approximately 25 km of coastline in Baie-Comeau, from the east shore of the mouth of the Manicouagan River to Comeau Creek. The team inventoried the different types of habitats, identified potential sources of coastal pollution, natural disturbances (landslides, erosion, etc.) and anthropogenic disturbances (riprap) and carried out fish inventories. The acquisition of knowledge will benefit the municipality of Baie-Comeau, which will thus be informed of the results collected during 2023.
The data presented here brings together ichthyological information collected in a marsh at the mouth of the Manicouagan River as well as the location of two observed landslide sectors, accompanied by photos taken from the ground and by drone.
