Biophysical Characterization and Restoration of the Parc de l'Anse, Notre-Dame-du-Portage (2014-2017)

Anse-du-Portage in the Notre-Dame-du-Portage municipality has suffered from submersion and coastal erosion for several years. The municipality is currently in the process of revitalizing Anse-du-Portage. The municipality sought the expertise of the Comité ZIP du Sud-de-l'Estuaire (ZIPSE) with a view to a redevelopment taking into account coastal risks.

The Comité ZIP characterized and issued recommendations for restorations using mild erosion mitigation techniques. The project aims to conserve biodiversity and meets several principles of the Sustainable Development Act. In addition, the project will offer a "schools-banks" to put forward the soft techniques. The species used for the restoration are the prairie, smooth cordgrass, sea lymegrass, and rugosa rose.
