Density of in-situ measurements of Water Temperature

Sea Surface Temperature Subsurface Temperature

Monthly density maps of in situ temperature measurements aggregated into a spatial grid with a resolution of 1° x 1°. Each grid cell contains the total number of days in the month on which temperature measurements were recorded, with values ranging from 0 (no data) to the number of days in the month. The data comes from EMODnet Physics, which integrates in situ observations from different platforms, including time series, profiles, and CTD measurements. The product highlights the temporal availability of temperature data at different locations and depth levels. The dataset covers the period from 1900 to 2025.

This product has been developed in the framework of the ObsSea4Clim project.
