Whole-genome enzymatic methyl sequencing of liver and muscle tissue from three geneticcally distinct populations of European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) for the EpiFishNess project, 2024
We generated whole-genome DNA methylation data from liver and muscle tissues of European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) to characterize epigenetic variation among Atlantic (AT), Western Mediterranean (WM), and Eastern Mediterranean (EM) populations. Using a common-garden experimental design, this dataset aims to assess intrinsic population differences in DNA methylation while minimizing environmental effects. The data provide a resource to investigate how epigenetic variation contributes to population divergence and its distribution across the genome.
