ROSAME - Réseau d'Observation Subantarctique et Antarctique du niveau de la MEr
The "Réseau d’Observation Subantarctique et Antarctique du niveau de la MEr" (ROSAME) is composed of coastal tide gauge stations located in the French Southern and Antarctic Lands in the South Indian Ocean and on the Antarctic continent and was set up in the early 1990s.
Scientific applications mainly concern the study of ocean tides and long-term sea level variations, as well as the calibration/validation of space altimetry missions.
All ROSAME stations are equipped with GNSS stations to measure and monitor the geodetic stability of the measurement sites.
Since 2015, ROSAME is integrated in the SNO SONEL (Système d'Observation du Niveau des Eaux Littorales).
The ROSAME stations are part of the international GLOSS (Global Sea Level Observing System) program. The ROSAME network benefits from the financial support of INSU and the Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées, the human support of DT/INSU, as well as the logistic and financial support of IPEV.
