Floating microplastics abundance in open and coastal waters of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea (Adriatic, Aegean, Ionian, and Levantine Seas) from 2014-10-09 to 2020-02-10 (NCEI Accession 0259524)

This study estimated the load of floating microplastics (i.e. plastics less than 5mm, reported in unit of pieces/m^3) in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea (Adriatic, Aegean, Ionian, and Levantine Seas) from 2014-10-09 to 2020-02-10. Data was collected using manta net. This dataset contains the results from all 76 net tows, in a spreadsheet format. Tows were conducted for 15–30 min at an average cruising speed of <2 knots.
