The effect of the deadly trio on the central nervous system (diencephalon and pituitary) transcriptome of the European sea bass, Dicentratchus labrax (HEALTHSEA project)

The study aimed to investigate how long-term exposure to multiple environmental stressors associated with climate change (warming, acidification, and hypoxia) affects diencephalon and pituitary transcriptomes in juvenile European sea bass. Using RNA-seq analysis, we compared transcript expression under present-day environmental conditions and projected IPCC 2100 conditions. The study focused on identifying molecular responses associated with endocrine regulation, with particular emphasis on genes involved in sexual maturation. The results aim to improve our understanding of the potential consequences of future ocean conditions on fish endocrine system.
