Density of in-situ measurements of Currents
Monthly density maps of in situ current measurements aggregated into a spatial grid with a resolution of 1° x 1°. Each grid cell contains the total number of days in the month on which current measurements were recorded, with values ranging from 0 (no data) to the number of days in the month. The data comes from EMODnet Physics, which integrates in situ observations from different platforms, including moored instruments and HF radar stations. The product highlights the temporal availability of current data at different locations and depth levels. The dataset covers the period from 2017 to 2024.
This product has been developed in the framework of the ObsSea4Clim project.
