SPOT-31964C/NDBC Buoy 45214, located near NDBC buoy 45007, is a Sofar Spotter buoy that is deployed in south-central Lake Michigan overwinter to help fill the wintertime observing gap. The station is owned and operated by Michigan Technological University. Deployment is supported through Inflation Reduction Act funding received by GLOS.{NOTE: The wind values displayed for these buoys (Sofar Spotters & Smart Moorings) are based on an estimate from its wave measurements, and not an actual direct measurement.)
